Extra Rental Equipment

Budget Car and Truck Rental of Memphis provides a variety of extra equipment options – from child safety seats to state-of-the-art GPS navigation devices to make your rental experience more enjoyable.

GPS Navigation Learn More

GPS Navigation

When travel takes you someplace new; try Budget’s Where2 GPS Navigation – a time saver that guides you with audible turn-by-turn directions to addresses, hotels, and attractions while you’re en route – all with a touch of the screen.

Pre-loaded with all Budget locations, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, etc. and 2D and 3D maps along with turn-by-turn voice directions, the Where2 GPS Navigation helps customers find any destination with ease. The traffic receiver notifies a driver of any traffic difficulties and can help navigate a new route to avoid lengthy delays.

There are 4 pieces of equipment that every customer should receive when they rent a GPS. This includes the GPS, charger, suction mount, and travel bag. Each item must be accounted for upon return.

GPS units must be returned to the rental counter at the end of the rental period. DO NOT leave the GPS unit inside the car where you are dropping off your vehicle. If you return your vehicle to an unauthorized drop location, it is still your responsibility to return the GPS unit to a Budget Car and Truck Rental of Memphis location. You will be charged the daily rate for renting the GPS unit until the unit is received by Budget Car and Truck Rental of Memphis. You will also be charged for a lost GPS unit ($500.00) until the unit is received by Budget Car and Truck Rental of Memphis.

To return by mail please send the GPS unit overnight to:

Drivers with Disabilities Learn More

Drivers with Disabilities

As part of Budget’s commitment to meet the needs of customers with disabilities, our services include, at no extra cost, left and right hand controls. Although many Budget locations carry these items as part of their regular inventory, demand can vary. Customers with disabilities – or their drivers – are encouraged to reserve assistive devices within 48 hours of car pickup. Please call 888-221-1203 for details and confirmation.

Budget cannot provide hand controls on every make or model of vehicle, and cannot confirm a reservation for a particular make or model of vehicle on any rental.

Drivers for renters with disabilities must have a valid driver’s license, meet all driver qualifications in effect at the location, and accompany the renter with a disability to the Budget location at time of rental. Unless either the renter with a disability or the driver is underage, at no extra charge the driver will be authorized to drive the rental vehicle for the renter with a disability.

Additional Renters Learn More

Additional Renters

Budget allows additional drivers to drive our vehicles for a fee, per day for each additional driver. The following are exempt from the fee but must meet all other driver requirements: the renter’s employer or fellow employee when on company business and renting under a corporate account; the renter’s legal spouse; the companion driver of a renter with a disability who has completed the non-licensed renter form.

The additional driver must be at least 21 years of age, with an additional surcharge for drivers between 21 and 24 years of age. Budget will check the additional driver’s license to ensure that it is valid and they must meet all the same requirements as the primary renter.

Child Safety Seats Learn More

Child Safety Seats

Traveling with a young child? Budget offers Child Safety Seats to help protect the safety of your child. Simply request a child safety seat when you make your reservation and we’ll have one ready when you pick up your vehicle.

Tennessee law requires all children under the age of 6 to be in a car seat. Your request will be held with your reservation, but rental is made on a first-come, first-served basis so availability is not guaranteed. Due to liability issues, Budget personnel are not permitted to install child safety seats into vehicles for customers. Seats must be returned to the renting location or an additional fee will apply to the rental. Failure to return the seat in the same condition as received (minus normal wear and tear) may result in additional charges.

Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) Learn More

Fuel Purchase Option

Pay in advance for a full tank of fuel and bring the vehicle back empty. This convenient service costs you nearly nothing as our rates are comparable to the current local retail pump price. Please note: no credit will be given for unused fuel.

The Fuel Purchase Option isn’t included in your reservation total. Actual price will be disclosed at time of rental before obligation of purchase. Price will vary as rates are based on, but not necessarily equal to market rates at time of rental.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) Learn More

LDW – Loss Damage Waiver

Covers full value of the Budget vehicle in case of theft, accident, or vandalism.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) is not insurance – it’s an option that relieves you of financial responsibility if your rental vehicle is damaged or stolen during your rental. Even if you think you are already covered under your personal policy, purchasing LDW has a multitude of benefits. It eliminates the hassle of dealing with your own insurance company claim process, stops any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from the deductible on your personal policy, and avoids the risk of your premium increasing. Next time you rent a car, be sure you’re prepared for life’s unexpected turns. This optional coverage offers you big peace of mind for a small price.

*LDW is subject to sales tax, which may not be reflected in total estimate.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) Learn More

PAI/PAC – Personal Accident Insurance / Personal Property Coverage

Personal Accident Insurance / Personal Property Coverage protects you and your passengers against accident, injury, and loss to personal property.

Personal Accident Insurance provides an accidental death benefit and an accident medical expense benefit for the renter and passengers for bodily injury which results from an accident during the rental period. The renter is covered in or out of the vehicle. Passengers are covered only while in the Budget vehicle during the rental period. This includes entering and exiting the rental vehicle.

Personal Property Coverage provides protection for the renter’s personal property 24 hours a day in or out of the rental vehicle (other than personal residence) during the rental period. Pays in addition to the renter’s own homeowner’s, apartment, or other insurance they may already have.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) Learn More

SLI – Supplemental Liability Insurance

SLI provides additional protection for the renter and any listed authorized driver against claims made by a third party for bodily injury, death, and/or property damage caused by the use or operation of the rental vehicle.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) is excess automobile liability coverage that protects all authorized drivers of the rental vehicle against third-party bodily injury and property-damage claims up to USD $1,000,000.00 for your rental in the U.S. Extra coverage means greater peace of mind because it eliminates the hassle of dealing with your own insurance company claim process, stops any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur from the deductible on your personal policy and avoids the risk of your premium increasing. Next time you rent a car, be sure you’re prepared for life’s unexpected turns. This optional coverage offers you big peace of mind for a small price.
